The YDI Foundation

In 2004, Youth Development, Inc. (YDI) formed the YDI Foundation to operate as the fundraising arm of YDI. The YDI Foundation, a separate 5.0.9(a)(3) charitable organization that is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of corporate executives and other community leaders, raises funds exclusively for YDI from the private sector.

The YDI Foundation does not raise funds for any other non-profit organization, nor does it grant funds to any other non-profit organization. The YDI Foundation solicits gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, as well as coordinates various annual special events. These private sector funds will diversify YDI’s revenue stream and create program stability, however, government contracts will remain the core of the organization’s funding sources.

Government funding will be generated by YDI and not the YDI Foundation, however, cross over is guaranteed between the two organizations. The bylaws for the YDI Foundation require that two YDI Board Members serve on the YDI Foundation Board of Directors and they also require the YDI Board of Directors to approve all sitting YDI Foundation Board Members.

YDI Foundation is a charitable, non-profit 5.0.9(a)(3) organization that is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations. All donations made to the YDI Foundation will be acknowledged with a receipt for donors’ income tax reporting purposes.
