YDI Valencia
With centers located in both Albuquerque in Bernalillo County and Los Lunas in Valencia
County, the Education, Employment and Training Division serves children, youth and
families by providing a variety of programs and services. Through the New Mexico
Workforce Investment Act, this division operates five sites that provide comprehensive
youth services centered at one location that are all focused on helping clients
improve their employability. Services include helping with school completion, drop
out prevention, guidance and counseling, practical work experience, summer employment,
occupational skills training, alternative schooling and more. The sites are located
in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties. Other programs designed
to help improve client’s employability include:
- GED exam preparation
- Academic instruction for students dis-enrolled from
the public school system
- College preparation
- Basic employment skills
training
- Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Prevention programming
