SPECIAL PROJECTS PDF BROCHURE

The Special Projects & Governmental Affairs Division works to accomplish the mission of the agency.

The division develops and maintains relationships with partners and collaborators; Oversees YDI’s community development work; Gives direction to the YDI Foundation staff to achieve its’ fundraising goals; Assists in formulating, drafting, and advocating for YDI’s legislative priorities; Assists in developing new initiatives and seeking out funding and grant opportunities; Governmental relations with key public entities; and oversees public and media relations and Digital Outreach programs; Responsible for Wool Warehouse facility and manages the Scholarship/Emergency Assistance Fund.

MI VOZ

  • Two time winner of the “New Visions” New Mexico award.
  • 40+ students have produced their own documentary Film.
  • Films featured in New York International Independent Film & Video festival.
  • Designated an Official New Mexico Centennial Project.

YDI FOUNDATION

Last year the YDI Foundation provided over $36,000 in Scholarships and Emergency Assistance to the youth and families we serve. The annual Charity Golf Event is but one of many fundraising events held throughout the year.

Has maintained her roots in the community dedicating most of her adult life volunteering. She is president of the South West Alliance of Neighbors (SWAN), a coalition of neighborhood associations, member of the West Central Community Development Group (WCCDG) and Alamosa Neighborhood Association (ANA), Chair of the Interstate Landscape Task Force, member of NM Film and Media Commission, and recently completed a 3 year term on the Environmental Planning Commission for the City of ABQ, former Executive Director for ANA and WCCDG, both grassroots organization established to enhance the community by improving economic and educational opportunities and the reduction of crime.
