La Mariposa Early Head Start (TANF)

Funded by the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD), YDI offers comprehensive expanded "wrap-around" services for 28 infants and toddlers at the La Mariposa Early Head Start center. The expanded, "wrap-around" Early Head Start classrooms will have expanded hours in the morning and late afternoon. The hours of operation are from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Priority for this service will be given to New Mexico Works/TANF participants. This will allow New Mexico Works/TANF participants to fulfill their work/job training requirements.

Services for children include a multi-cultural educational program tailored to each child's individual needs, fosters self-esteem, and develops cognitive, language, motor and social skills; medical and dental screenings and follow-up treatment; evaluation, diagnosis, special services along with a nurturing inclusive classroom environment for children with special needs, nutritious meals and snacks eaten in family style settings; and transition services for children and their families who are moving from Early Head Start to Head Start.
