GED Program

The GED program provides GED preparation and instruction for youth ages 16-24 that have dropped out of school. The program is also a workforce program and offers employment training to all students. The program assists students in obtaining gainful employment by completing their education and training for career-readiness. Each participant will need to qualify through HUD Income guidelines.

The program offers employability skills training and job placement assistance which leads to unsubsidized employment. Referrals to counseling and other support services are also available to all students to assist them in achieving a positive completion in the program.

Classes are held Monday through Friday during the following times:

Morning class: 9 am – 11:30 pm
Afternoon class: 12 pm – 2:30 pm

Concha Cordova has Fifteen (15) years’ experience with direct service and senior management of youth workforce development, dropout prevention and education programs.  Mrs. Cordova has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology with a minor in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration.  Mrs. Cordova is currently a member of the State of New Mexico Adult Basic Education Advisory Council and the NCLR Workforce Development Advisory Council and is involved in numerous local workforce and educational committees working with community based organizations, government agencies, training providers and businesses to make workforce development and education a priority for youth and young adults.
