The GED program provides GED preparation and instruction for youth ages 16-24 that have dropped out of school. The program is also a workforce program and offers employment training to all students. The program assists students in obtaining gainful employment by completing their education and training for career-readiness. Each participant will need to qualify through HUD Income guidelines.
The program offers employability skills training and job placement assistance which leads to unsubsidized employment. Referrals to counseling and other support services are also available to all students to assist them in achieving a positive completion in the program.
Classes are held Monday through Friday during the following times:
Morning class: 9 am – 11:30 pm
Afternoon class: 12 pm – 2:30 pm

Frank Mirabal is currently serving as Vice President of Educational Support for Youth Development Inc. Prior to his work at YDI, Frank spent five years as the President of Contigo Research, Policy & Strategy, a national consulting firm that provides research, public policy and strategic thinking services. Frank is pursuing a PhD at New Mexico State University in Educational Leadership and has both a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a BA in Communications and Journalism from the University of New Mexico.
