present job. It will prepare participants for the workplace, with high quality training
covering job readiness, workplace expectations, life and employability skills, workplace
communication and problem solving and entry level occupational skills.
YDI is currently working with businesses locating to the Westside of Albuquerque
and those that are currently hiring large applicant pools to recognize the participants
that complete this training and consider them for job openings.
The training expands on the BEST curriculum and includes computer skills training,
customer service skills training and employment skills remediation through Key Train.
Upon completion of the training, individuals will be assessed utilizing the Work
Keys Employment System that measures the foundation skills required by most jobs.
Participants will be awarded a New Mexico Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) upon
successfully passing the Work Keys assessment. The CRC is a credential endorsed
by the Governor of New Mexico that confirms to employers that an individual possesses
the basic workplace skills required for common jobs.
