“Mi Voz: One Community, Many Voices”, is a YDI after-school program that
involves middle school aged youth in all aspects of filmmaking. Subjects include:
directing, scripting, acting and operating sound and video equipment. Through a
series of lectures and hands on trainings, youth gain important developmental skills
in problem solving, critical thinking and work ethic. Other benefits include: improving
self-confidence, fostering creativity and teaching a means of expression.
Mi Voz is currently preparing for its 4th season entitled "Spirits of Enchantment".
This years theme will revolve around the supernatural/paranormal aspects of New
Mexico. We will be auditioning Middle School students ages 11-13 yrs old on October
21st and 22nd from 4:00 - 5:30. Classes start November 3rd and meet every Tuesday
and Thursday from 4:00 - 5:30 at our studio at the Wool Warehouse, 518 1st Street
in Albuquerque, NM.

Other successes include a film titled "The Day the World Ended" a short comedy that
was accepted into the New York International Film and video Festival. “A Day at
the Ditch” won 2nd place in the 2004 Governors Cup and the Audience Choice Award
in the 2004 Alibi Film Festival.
