GO for Your Future: Paid Career Training in Albuquerque

The Growth Opportunities (GO) Program offers a proven pathway to a stable and positive future in Bernalillo County. Designed specifically for young adults affected by community violence, we provide the tools to build real career skills and break the cycle.

If you’re between 18 and 24 and feel like you can’t get ahead because you lack experience or have faced challenges like justice-system involvement, this is your second chance. We provide paid work experience, skills training, and mentorship to help you go from just surviving to truly thriving right here in Albuquerque.

How the GO Program Supports You

Our program is designed to remove barriers to your success by offering a complete package of paid experience, training, and mentorship.

Paid Work Experience

Earn a paycheck while you learn. Get up to 300 hours of paid work experience with local employers, plus additional monetary bonuses for your progress.

Career & Job Support

We help you get ready for the workforce. Get help with resume writing, interview skills, job preparation, and career exploration to find a path that’s right for you.

Guidance from Mentors Who Get It

You’re not doing this alone. Our staff have lived experience and provide one-on-one mentorship, including conflict resolution training, to help you succeed.

Leadership Development

Build skills for life. Develop key leadership competencies through a curriculum delivered by our community violence prevention partners.

Who Qualifies for the GO Program?

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Are 18-24 years old
  • Reside in Bernalillo County (Zip Codes: 87102, 87104, 87105, 87106, 87107, 87108, 87116, 87121, 87123)
  • Have been expelled from school OR attend/attended an alternative high school for disciplinary reasons
  • Involved in the justice system through an alternative sentence or diversionary program (juvenile or adult)

Yes. This program is designed specifically for you. Justice involvement does not disqualify you; in fact, it is one of the key eligibility factors we consider.

Will I really get paid?

Absolutely. You’ll complete up to 300 hours of paid work experience, and you can also earn additional bonus incentives for your progress in the program.

What kind of work will I do?

You’ll gain hands-on experience in high-demand fields right here in the Albuquerque area, such as:
