YDI’s YouthBuild program just received its 2nd YouthBuild grant from the US Department of Labor to continue education and employment services for out-of-school young people ages 16-24 in the construction industry.  

YDI YouthBuild will serve 55 young people over the next 2 years.  YDI YouthBuild is now recruiting for young people who want to receive their High School Equivalency Diploma (formerly GED) and become trained and employed in the construction field.

The outcomes for the previous YDI YouthBuild grant are:

  • 83 young adults served (Contract was for 65 young adults)
  • 65 young adults received a credential (HSE/PACT)
  • 50 young adults increased their Literacy/Numeracy skills
  • 50 young adults were placed in Education or Employment
  • 19 young adults have retained their placement
